Holistic Healing by Karen Epton

My name is Karen and I am a Healer living in an area of outstanding natural beauty, close to the coast in North West Norfolk. I have always enjoyed being in nature and have a love of animals, in fact I found my natural ability to heal through one of my dogs called  Bertie.  I started life in Nottinghamshire and my move to Norfolk in July 2023 has been a dream come true.

I first became aware of ‘healing’ in my early 20’s having been introduced to a lovely couple that offered help with my back pain at the time. My meeting with them was one of destiny and I have come to realise that nothing is a coincidence!

I became very busy from my mid 20’s onwards with the arrival of two beautiful children. After experiencing a lot of childhood trauma myself, I threw myself into motherhood and did all I could to ensure their childhood memories would be positive. I now realise that in experiencing multiple childhood traumas myself up to the age of 18, along with prolonged stress as an adult, it encouraged me to explore the ‘road less travelled’ and look to the alternative, complementary therapies to help me recover on an emotional, physical and spiritual level.

Once my children had left home, I felt as though I collapsed on both an emotional and physical level. My IBS turned to inflamed bowel disease and after a weekend in hospital I arrived home with chronic fatigue syndrome. At this point I gave up everything in order to get better and have been extremely lucky to have been supported by both my husband, family and friends. I decided to turn the negativeness of my health situation into a positive and found a teacher that was amazingly supportive and willing to train me as a healer with the Healing Trust on a half day basis, which allowed me to train in the morning and sleep in the afternoons. At this point I was sleeping every day for half a day despite having slept all night!

My healing journey has continued, and in recent years, I have found the Ayurveda principles very helpful. I try to live an Ayurvedic way of life, including yoga, meditation, and eating the nourishing foods for my dosha. Since moving to Norfolk, I have qualified in a truly transformative treatment called Amnanda Process, which helps to release stress and trauma held in the body and Amnanda Marma, which helps with pain relief.

My healing journey to health has enabled me to have true compassion for those that are struggling on a physical, emotional or spiritual level and all the work that I do as a healer, comes with love from the heart.
